I recently got asked “How are guys getting video of themselves on their phone?”

Hopefully this blog will help you understand the process a little easier.

The simplest way is to use the V1 app. Wherever you see a V1 banner on my site, click it and it will take you to the download page.

This is how 99% of people send me their swings. Yes, some send a video via email, and that’s fine. But the simplest and easiest way is through the V1 app. My Online Academy is linked to their world wide network. So with a few clicks on your phone or tablet, your swing uploads into my V1 Analysis system. From here all I have to do is hit “start lesson” and my system records everything I say and do on screen.

The problem with sending a video via email is that the process takes longer my end. I have to download it to my computer, and then have to upload it to my V1 system.

The added benefit with the v1 app of course – is that you can start analyzing your own swing in between lessons. I show you what to do, you then know what to look for when you record your own swing.

If you missed them, here’s the CAPTURE, ANALYZE, IMPROVE explainer videos I recently made for the front of my site. (Note to self – record voiceovers again with a less sounding monotone voice!)

Now of course, if you’re using an ipad or iphone or an android device you can always ask your friend or someone else to video you while you hit some shots.

But nothing beats having the tools to do it yourself.

Here’s a few ways to seamlessly make this a one man/woman operation.

I personally use the Makayama Movie mount when i’m out on the range. Your ipad (2,3 or 4) slides right inside and then you attach it to a tripod.

A tripod you can pick up very cheap nowadays. Most come with a small carry case you can fit inside your golf bag. You can either order straight from Amazon and get it delivered to your doorstep by tomorrow morning. Or you can pick one up from Best Buy or Target or somewhere like that.

Another great device is the ‘Gliff’, shown below. Your smartphone attaches to it and then you attach The Gliff to a tripod or small flexible tripod.

The Cradlz is a great device to use with your phone. It attaches to any small flexible tripod or stick. Click the image above to visit the Cradlz webiste.

You can spend $10-20 on some rods/sticks or you can pop down to ‘Lowes’ or ‘Home Depot’ and pick some ‘Driveway Markers’ up for a couple of bucks.. Click here to take a look.

The above items are a few examples of what’s out there to help you video your swing.

If you have any other great ways to video your swing I’d love to hear from you. Please leave a comment, question or suggestion below.
